TOWN UNDER-18s 1 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 2

Posted on: Thu 11 Mar 2010

A single goal from second-year midfielder Chris Atkinson was not enough for Graham Mitchell's under-18 side against Sheffield Wednesday in the latest FA Premier Academy League game at Storthes Hall this afternoon.

Graham Mitchell's side suffered a first-half blow when under-16 centre-back Dominic Dickinson had to be replaced in the 40th minute having picked up a whack to the shin.

However, Town took the lead in the 55th minute through midfielder Chris Atkinson's well-taken penalty. A Wednesday defender handled Aiden Chippendale's cross from the left - allowing the tall second-year scholar to step up and fire past the goalkeeper from twelve yards.

The visitors rallied after conceding and scored two goals to take all three points at the final whistle.
