A brace from 16-year old midfielder Matt Crooks (pictured) was a highlight for Town's under-18 side as they met a narrow defeat at the hands of visitors Sheffield United on Saturday at Storthes Hall.
Town started slowly and conceded an early goal, but equalised after 25 minutes when midfielder Crooks scored a brilliant first goal at under-18 level. Matt picked the ball up just outside the centre circle in the Sheffield United half and embarked on a powerful forward run that took him past the opposition midfield and centre-backs before cleverly clipping the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.
The young Terriers conceded a second goal midway through the second-half and were unfortunate to fall a further goal behind when chasing the game in the final fifteen minutes, but Crooks scored his second goal of the game soon after to give Town hope of snatching a draw - with a few minutes left he bravely got his head to Chris Atkinson's free-kick and diverted the ball past the goalkeeper.
