Town's youth team played their first FA Premier Academy League game of 2010 against Barnsley at Storthes Hall on Saturday morning.
The young Terriers were eventually defeated by two goals, but took the lead after an impressive opening twenty minutes through winger Aiden Chippendale (pictured); the second year scholar netted his fourth of the under-18 season, latching onto a pass from midfielder Ryan Watson before firing into the bottom corner from the edge of the Barnsley box.
Visitors Barnsley scored twice to go into the half-time interval ahead and although good chances fell to Shane Birtles, Adam Field and Michael McCaffery during the second forty five minutes it was the Tykes who sealed the points with a third goal in the 75th minute after manager Graham Mitchell had switched to three at the back to try and find an equaliser.
