Town's under-18 team were defeated by two second-half goals at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend in their latest FA Premier Academy League fixture of the season.

Graham Mitchell's side bossed possession throughout the second-half, but failed to create a clear goalscoring opportunity as they strived to get back into the game.

The young Terriers lined up in an adventurous 4-3-3 formation to start the game and created a couple of decent chances in a goalless first-half. Strikers Danny Barlow and James Spencer failed to hit the target with their efforts, but centre-back Leigh Franks tested the Wolves 'keeper with a well-struck free-kick.

Wolves' Ashley Hemmings opened the scoring in the 55th minute and despite Town's dominance of possession in the second 45 minutes, no clear-cut chances were created and the home side scored a second in the 88th minute.

Under-18 team manager Mitchell told htafc.com that there were still positives to take away from the game.

"I thought the lads kept the ball well, but I was disappointed that we couldn't create the chance that could get us back in the game.

"We've got Middlesbrough at home next weekend and everything we do in training this week is in preparation of that game."

Town's Dave Pickering and Lewis Collinson both picked up foot injuries during the Wolves game, but will be hoping to be fit for the visit of Boro to Storthes Hall (kick-off 12pm). Keep checking htafc.com for the latest Academy information!
