A second goal in as many games from young striker James Spencer gave Town's under-18 side a fantastic win at Liverpool this weekend.
The tall forward, who is still eligible for the under-16s this season, cleverly turned a low left-wing cross from Liam Ridehalgh into the top corner of the goal with the outside of his right boot to grab the three points for the Terriers.
The goal came on the hour mark, but Town had created several other chances prior to the winner; Spencer himself was denied by the Liverpool goalkeeper on two separate occasions when through on goal and defender Danny Codman flashed a header inches wide of goal when well placed at a corner.
The game was played in lovely conditions at Liverpool's Academy ground and the good playing surface, combined with the hosts' preference for playing good passing football, suited the young Terriers. Although very few chances were created by Liverpool, first-year professional goalkeeper Simon Eastwood faired excellently as he continued his comeback from a foot fracture and was well worth his clean sheet.
Graham Mitchell's side will now travel to Derby County on Saturday in their next FA Premier Academy League game.
