Huddersfield Town fan Dave Scholefield named the Sky Bet Championship’s ‘Fan of the Month’ for October
Huddersfield Town fan David Scholefield has been named the Sky Bet Championship ‘Fan of the Month’ for October.
As a member of the ‘All Together Town’ fan panel (click HERE for more info), David was one of the driving forces behind the new ‘North Stand Loyal’ group that aims to improve the atmosphere inside the John Smith’s Stadium on match day.
David explained:
“We have far exceeded my expectations from when I set up the group!
“The Chairman has shown an interest as well as other clubs that want to start a similar group within their grounds.
“Most importantly though – our own fans have shown support and we have received over £2,000 in donations to allow us to produce NSL branded flags and clothing.”
Town’s Harry Bunn, pictured above presenting Dave with his award at PPG Canalside, commented:
“The ‘North Stand Loyal’ movement has made a real difference to the atmosphere at the John Smith’s Stadium during our home games.
“There’s a great noise that comes from behind the goal at the north end and it’s very colourful thanks to all the flags and banners that fans bring.
“I understand that Dave is one of the main reasons that stand has been so eye-catching this season, so he thoroughly deserves his ‘Fan of the Month’ award!”
The Sky Bet Football League Fan of the Month voting panel comprises Sky Sports TV presenter Jim White, Sky Bet Sponsorship Manager David Tweed and Football League Commercial Development Manager Oliver Frankl.
