LOCAL KIDS ENJOY BLACKPOOL WIN!

20 October 2014

‘Schools Focus’ game is a great success

1,370 local school children and their families came to watch the Terriers claim victory over Blackpool on Saturday through the Club’s latest ‘Schools Focus’ initiative!

The tickets were sold via 80 local schools, which all earned cashback through the scheme whilst allowing pupils and their parents to watch the game at a discounted rate.

There was plenty in store for all supporters in the Family Area on the day.  Pupils and teachers from school partner Westborough High were on hand to entertain the crowds with their fantastic Samba Band outside the turnstiles.

Once inside, children had their faces painted for free by Artifaces, and there was also a balloon modeller making all sorts of different creations!

Town players Jake Charles and Sondre Tronstad posed for photos with young supporters alongside mascot Terry the Terrier. Click HERE to see the full gallery on our Facebook page. If you took your own #htafcsnaps please tweet them to us @htafcdotcom and we’ll RT!

Meanwhile, the first Terrier 7s presentation of the season took place pre match, with several youngsters receiving their first ever replica shirt and match tickets from defender Joe Wright.

The Club’s match day helpers, the Town Family were present in their green jumpers distributing flags to young Terriers to wave during the match, which made for a great spectacle in the Upper Tier.

HTAFC Club partner Clifton Juniors formed the Guard of Honour as the teams entered the field of play, as well as taking part in the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge at half time! For more information on how to get your child’s junior team involved with the Club, click HERE.

Last season £6,451 was given back to Schools via the School Focus match cashback initiative with 4,752 children and their families coming along to watch Town.

Town’s next Schools Focus game will be the home clash with Brentford on 6 December.
