Ambassador visits school partner St Thomas’
Club Ambassador Andy Booth was doing his bit to tackle bullying last week when he visited school partner St Thomas’.
Schools within Kirklees were promoting Anti-Bullying week and held assemblies to show what can be done to beat the bullies.
Town’s former striker attended two assemblies during the week and was joined on Friday by Terrier the Terrier and Captain Booth of the Town Foundation.
In the first assembly on Tuesday, Boothy and the pupils discussed bullying before they went away and came up with scenarios on how to beat it.
On Friday, Boothy, Town’s two mascots and the school’s mascot Tommy the Tiger attended an assembly where all three mascots played out some of the scenarios that the children had devised.
Club Ambassador Andy Booth said:
“Bullying is a very sensitive issue and one that affects a lot of young people. I hope that as a result of the Club’s involvement and the two assemblies that the children attended, they will be wiser as to how to beat bullying.”
David Rushby of St Thomas’ said:
“I would to thank Huddersfield Town for its support. It’s been a really creative and collaborative way of tackling some big issues once again.”
Town’s involvement at the school is as a result of St Thomas’ partnership with the Club, which is completely free!
