Town gifted Middlesbrough two goals in midweek to throw away two points, but responded in good style with hard earned point at Play-Off chasing Reading.

Speaking to htafc.com, Robins said: “The first three minutes were excellent and overall it was a good performance.

“We have shot ourselves in the foot again, although I felt the penalty was a harsh one. There was minimal contact and he has gone down easy. 

“We controlled the first half and still had good chances in the second. We did well against a top six side.”

The Terriers had the better chances throughout with goal scorer Nahki Wells hitting the crossbar, whilst Murray Wallace saw a header cleared off the line.  

“We felt the wide areas were going to be key and we knew that we had to nullify that threat, which I think we did that well,” Robins said. “We stuck to the plan and created good chances by passing the ball well. Murray (Wallace) had a header cleared off the line and Reading's ‘keeper has made some really good saves. 

“There were some good individual performances. Oscar Gobern bounced back following his error on Tuesday night. He was outstanding in midfield, especially when you consider that he was a doubt before the game. 

“As a collective the players responded well from Tuesday night and they worked the ball well,” Mark continued. “We said that there was something to build on following the Middlesbrough draw and I believe that the players have done that today.”

James Vaughan was the notable absentee, whilst Anthony Gerrard finished the match in a local hospital. 

“James is suffering from a bit of illness, but I am hopeful that he will be able to train next week,” said Mark. “We hope that he will be somewhere near fit for Bolton next weekend. We need to get the likes of James back fit because our bench today was very young. That is important for us though, because we want to get the young lads minutes on the pitch to aid their development.

“Anthony Gerrard has been taken to hospital," he added. "He is suffering with a chest injury and was struggling to breathe at half time; we are waiting to hear from the hospital and will hopefully go and pick him up on our way home.”
