MARK ROBINS: MATCH THE COMMITMENT

21 April 2014

Manager previews game at Yeovil

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins wants his side to match the commitment it showed against Brighton on Friday when it takes on Yeovil at Huish Park on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Terriers gave it their all only to be denied by an 82nd minute equaliser at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday, but Robins couldn’t fault the work ethic of his side.

“I’m looking for the same type of performance that we got against Brighton (at Yeovil), because you could see the commitment. We just need to be a little bit more productive and creative when we have the ball,” Mark told htafc.com

“That commitment is what I ask for and I can have no complaints about Friday. Now I want the players to give me the same again.

“The players were quite buoyant after the Brighton game and were immediately ready for the challenge at Yeovil.

“I want us to go out and give Yeovil problems – and we are capable of doing that. The prerequisite is that we put in the performance we put in against Brighton, in terms of the physical commitment. We’ll do everything we can to go and win the game.”

Robins was full of praise for his opposite number at Yeovil, Gary Johnson; the man who led the Glovers to the Championship for the first time in the Club’s history last season:

“I think Gary has to be applauded for what he’s done at Yeovil. It was a hell of a challenge to get them into the Championship in the first place, but he did it and now they are competing. For that, he deserves all the accolades he gets.

“They’re a good side and they have some good players; their team has changed since we played them in December. They’re on home soil and they’ve had some creditable results against teams there, as well as away.

“We know we have to match their effort, desire and commitment to get a result. It will be a different challenge to the Brighton game and will be played in a different environment.”
