HTAFC Under-21 Captain to play league football

Huddersfield Town’s William Boyle has today completed a Youth Loan move to Sky Bet League 2 club York City.
The 20 year-old, left-footed centre back has joined the Minstermen until 3 January 2016.
Boyle has been among the First Team’s substitutes on several occasions this season and was recently a member of the squad that travelled to Spain to work under new Head Coach David Wagner.
He made his professional debut last season, playing a few minutes as a late substitute for Harry Bunn during the 3-0 Sky Bet Championship home win over Reading in February 2015.
Boyle has also been the regular captain of Frankie Bunn’s table-topping Under-21 squad; he’s scored three goals in 10 starts this season and has helped the side keep six clean sheets in the last seven games.
This is William’s first loan spell in the Football League following on from two starts at Vanarama National League club Kidderminster Harriers in April 2015 and a brief spell at Macclesfield Town at the start of the current campaign.
York City currently sits 22nd in the League 2 table with 12 points from 17 games and recently appointed former Scotland international Jackie McNamara as the Club’s new First Team Manager.
York’s next three fixtures are all against sides in the League 2 Play-Off zone; away trips to Leyton Orient and Portsmouth are followed by a home fixture against Accrington Stanley, which could see Boyle come up against Town Development Squad teammate Joe Wright.

“York Manager Jackie McNamara approached the Club about William’s availability straight after watching him in action first-hand in the 2-0 Under-21 win at Leeds United on Monday.
“This will be William’s third spell and now is the time for him to go and establish himself in York’s side, which we all believe he is more than capable of doing.
“He’s a great character – a leader on the pitch – and this is potentially a superb next step in his development as a footballer.”
