Huddersfield Town’s Under-21 side will play a pre-season friendly at Guernsey FC on Wednesday 3 August 2016.

Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn’s side will travel to the Channel Island to play the Ryman League Division One South side at the Footes Lane Stadium in a 7.45pm kick-off.

The teams will play for the Mike Thomas Memorial Trophy, named in honour of Guernsey‘s club physiotherapist. Sadly Mike passed away last May from Motor Neurone Disease, having assisted local clubs and Guernsey representative teams for over 25 years.

Mike was originally from Huddersfield and was a big Huddersfield Town fan, returning to England whenever possible to watch the Terriers.

The funds that this fixture raises are used to compensate Guernsey’s part-time players, who suffer a loss of earnings when injured.

Managed by Tony Vance, the Green Lions finished 13th in the Ryman League Division One South in 2015/16.
