Huddersfield Town is launching a new official club app designed to keep supporters in the know, whenever and wherever they may be.
The app, called Town Square, is set to launch in time for Town’s Sky Bet Championship home opener against Blackburn Rovers on 15 August and will be the place to be for all Huddersfield Town matters.
Those who download the app can read and see everything to do with Huddersfield Town. Through the app, supporters can do everything from line-ups, stats and checking scores across all the leagues with live tables to buying tickets or shirts, whilst staying up-to-date with all the latest news from the Club.
The app, designed by club partner Worthington Brown and supported by John Smith’s, will give Town fans a better match day experience thanks to the use of innovative technology from TribeHive.
The technology gives users of the app exclusive access to the internet by providing an alternative solution to Wi-Fi that can be expensive to provide in such big venues, providing connectivity to the whole stadium.
The app also uses iBeacons, an Apple based technology that helps establish hyper-contextual content based on the user’s location. Using this technology allows the Club to create a much more personal experience for supporters by sending them push notifications with the latest updates. Users will also receive notifications about special offers that are exclusive to them. This facility will be rolled out as the season progresses.
The use of such innovative technology means that the Town Square app will be one of the leading and most technologically advanced apps in the entire Football League.
The app will only be available to download from the App Store for Apple devices and Play Store for Android users; simply search for ‘Town Square’. You may be asked to download the TribeHive app as well. There are no plans to have the app available for Windows mobile phones.
We recommend that you download the app before match days as the connectivity will be poor in and around the Stadium until you download it.
