Town’s Under-18 side fell to defeat at the hands of visitors Sheffield Wednesday in the latest Professional Development League 2 North side of the season held at PPG Canalside on Saturday morning.
In game that featured a first start for England under-16 international defender Jordan Williams at under-18 level, Tony Carss’ side was undone by two set-piece goals from the visitors.
Sheffield Wednesday took the lead from an eighth minute corner, but the Terriers equalised just five minutes after the half-time interval when midfielder Jamie Spencer netted following good hold-up play from striker Rekeil Pyke.
However, the Owls scored a 78th minute free-kick to take the spoils.
