LOCAL TALENT ON SHOW AT THE PPG CUP

11 May 2015

Junior youngsters excel in Town’s official junior tournament

Over 800 local youngsters showcased their skills in the 2015 PPG Cup, held at Huddersfield Town over two days this weekend.

Footballers from across the region followed in the footsteps of Jacob Butterfield, Sean Scannell and Alex Smithies, by taking to the pitches at PPG Canalside.

This six-aside tournament welcomed teams ranging from ages seven to 14 on Saturday and Sunday, with all children receiving a participation medal.

The tournament also offered a wide range of activities to keep the entire family occupied throughout the day including face-painters, ‘Terry The Terrier’ and plenty of refreshments to complete the full family experience.

Once again Birstall-based PPG Architectural Coatings UK & Ireland, manufacturer of leading trade paint brands Johnstone’s Trade and Leyland Trade, lent its support to the inaugural PPG Cup as part of its sponsorship of Huddersfield Town’s Canalside training facility on Leeds Road.

PPG brought the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy to both days so kids could have their picture taken alongside it, whilst attendees could also have a crack at PPG’s Paint Pot Challenge on the day too!

Once again, the tournament has received widespread praise from those involved on social media:

Thanks to everyone who took part in this weekend’s tournament!
