Huddersfield Town’s ‘Pedal for Pounds 7’ bike ride, sponsored by Orchard Energy, got under way at Carlisle United on Wednesday morning!

This season’s ride has seen 180 supporters get on their bikes to raise money for the Huddersfield Town Academy and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, beginning at Carlisle United on Wednesday morning.

Cyclists registered at PPG Canalside and enjoyed a breakfast before heading up to Carlisle courtesy of Stotts Coaches.

Riders then began to depart in their groups from Carlisle at 8.30am, after a big ‘class picture’ in front of Brunton Park, the home of Carlisle United.

The overall route will travel from Carlisle, through Lancaster, Preston and Liverpool and finally back to PPG Canalside on Friday; a route dubbed ‘The Shankly Tour’ in honour of Bill Shankly, with the legendary manager having links to every destination.

The first stop of day one is at Askham & District Community Centre in Askham, Queens Head Car Park (CA10 2PN) where the cyclists will receive a drink of water thanks to club partner Ice Valley and flapjack thanks to club partner Total Foodservice.
