Billing goal rescues point
A late equaliser from teenage midfielder Philip Billing earned Town’s Under-21 side a point at Professional Development League 2 North leaders Nottingham Forest on Monday afternoon.
Forest’s number nine James Thorne opened the scoring within the opening five minutes after seizing on a poor back pass, but the home side’s chances of hanging onto that lead took a hit in the 27th minute when midfielder Jack Blake was set off for an apparent stamp on Town youngster Jacob Hansson, who was later withdrawn.
Despite the man advantage, it took Town until the cusp of the 90th minute to draw level against the resilient hosts, when the Danish Academy graduate unleashed a barn-busting 30 yard drive that rocketed in off the crossbar.
