The young Terriers will be striving to bounce back, having lost top spot to Nottingham Forest following two consecutive losses in two Yorkshire derbies. 

However, Carss’ side has two games in hand over Forest and is only trailing by four points, meaning the chance to regain first place is firmly in Town’s hands.

At the end of the league campaign, the top two sides from the Northern and Southern sections advance to a semi-final, with the first placed side from one section playing against the second placed team from the other section.

That means that each game now carries an extra significance, as there are four sides well placed in the Northern table all vying for one of the top two places. Some good news for Carss’ side is that the team has fared well against teams from the capital this season, beating Crystal Palace, Brentford and Queens Park Rangers, losing only to Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup.

Millwall’s Under-18 side is third from bottom in the Southern division having collected 27 points from 25 games so far this campaign - winning just three of thirteen home games.

This is the first time that the two sides have met since the reformation of the Professional Development League.
