ACCRINGTON LOAN MOVE FOR CROOKS
20 November 2014
Huddersfield Town’s Matt Crooks has today completed a Youth Loan move to League 2 Accrington Stanley until 3 January 2015 inclusive.
The Huddersfield-born 20 year-old will be available to Accrington Manager John Coleman for the Club’s game at home to Cambridge United on Saturday.
Matt’s loan move will reunite him with Town’s former First Team Coach and Development Coach Paul Stephenson, who is now Assistant Manager at the Crown Ground.
Academy graduate Crooks made his senior debut on the opening day of the Championship season at home to AFC Bournemouth playing at centre back, but he has played most of his football in midfield and attack for Town’s Under-21 side.
This will be Matt’s fourth loan spell away from Town following periods at FC Halifax Town in the Conference North during the 2011/12 season; at Evo-Stik League side Radcliffe Borough in 2012/13 and a month-long stint at League 2 Hartlepool United that ended on Monday. Coincidentally, the first of Matt’s three Hartlepool appearances came at Accrington.
Accrington currently sit 15th in the League 2 table, having accumulated 23 points from the opening 17 games.
Among Matt’s new teammates is former Town Academy midfielder Josh Windass.

Huddersfield Town Manager Chris Powell commented:
“Matt is at an important stage of his development where he needs to play regular senior football and I’m delighted that he gets the opportunity to do this at Accrington, following on so closely from his recent spell at Hartlepool.
“We’ll monitor Matt’s progression very closely during his time away from the Club.”
