LOAN: JAMES VAUGHAN JOINS BIRMINGHAM

26 November 2015

Forward moves until 2 January 2016

- James Vaughan joins Birmingham on loan
- HTAFC striker leaves until 2 Jan 2016
- Vaughan cannot play vs Town on 5 December

Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan has today joined fellow Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City on an Emergency Loan until 2 January 2016 inclusive.

As per the terms of the loan, he will not be available to play against Town for the Blues when the sides meet at St. Andrew’s on 5 December.

His involvement this term has been curtailed initially by injury and then suspension. The 27 year-old has made four substitute appearances for Town’s First Team this season, with the last coming under the Caretaker Management of Mark Lillis at home to Leeds United for half an hour.

James, who joined the Terriers permanently in July 2013 after a successful season-long loan at the Club from Norwich City, is contracted until the end of the current campaign.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner explained:

“I have discussed my plans with James openly and he has told me how he sees things also. Our initial plan for James was to build up his fitness over two weeks like we did with the other players in the squad, but he was starting from a different position because of injury.

“When the possibility of a loan came up, James asked me if we would consider it. I considered the advantages and disadvantages of his, the fact that it is for only six weeks and that James wanted to go and we decided to allow it. I am happy with the loan.”

Huddersfield Town has the ability to recall James from the loan after the initial 28 days.
