Huddersfield Town Academy scholar Jack Boyle has today signed his first professional contract at the Club.

Jack, who hails from Scholes and joined the Terriers at Under-10 level from local side Garforth Villa, has put pen to paper on a deal that runs until 30 June 2018, with the Club having the option on a further season.

The 17 year-old second year scholar is an attacking midfielder who usually plays through the centre of the pitch, but has also been deployed wide at times.

Having missed the start of the 2014/15 season due to a knee injury, he made a real impact upon his return to fitness in late 2014. On top of 10 goals in just 21 starts for Town’s Under-18s, Jack also netted four goals in four starts and five substitute appearances for the Under-21s.

Jack is the fourth current second year scholar to sign professional terms with the Club, following on from teammates Regan Booty, Jacob Hanson and Rekeil Pyke.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Mark Lillis commented:

“It’s a great moment for Jack to sign his first professional contract, and one that is fully deserved after the progression he has made over the last 12 months.

“Jack is a very technically sound footballer; the type that makes things happen in the attacking third of the pitch and gets fans off their feet.

“However, as I always say, the hard work is only just beginning for Jack! He’ll continue to work under Professional Development Coaches Tony Carss and Leigh Bromby with the Under-18 group and will be challenged to make the step up to the Development Squad in due course.”
