Huddersfield Town’s First Team squad visited two local hospitals on Wednesday afternoon to provide some festive cheer for young children and their families.

Club Captain Mark Hudson led one half of the Terriers’ squad to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary alongside the likes of Harry Bunn, Sean Scannell, Kyle Dempsey and Philip Billing.

And the players didn’t go empty handed, handing out gifts to the excited bunch of youngsters who were eagerly anticipating their visit.

Meanwhile the likes of Dean Whitehead, Tommy Smith, Ishmael Miller, Jamie Paterson, Nahki Wells, Jason Davidson and Ben Chilwell were the names putting smiles on faces at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, armed with bags of goodies as they gave the children a day to remember, along with the staff.

After the visits, a few of Town’s players took to social media to thank the hospital staff for their work.

Huddersfield Town’s Club Ambassador Andy Booth, who accompanied the players on the visit, commented:

“The players visiting our two local hospitals has become an annual tradition near Christmas and I think it is important for the Club to do its part and try to add a little bit of cheer to the families in hospital.

“It was great to see how happy the kids were to see some of their heroes in the flesh and how grateful they were to receive the goodies we took up.

“On behalf of the Club, I would like to thank the staff and patients for the welcome they gave the squad.”
