PLAYERS VISIT LOCAL HOSPITALS

17 December 2014

Town squad take gifts to children’s wards

Huddersfield Town’s First Team squad spent Tuesday afternoon visiting two local hospitals to spread some Christmas cheer to children and their families.

Club Captain Mark Hudson took Jacob Butterfield, Jonathan Hogg, Sean Scannell and Joel Lynch to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where they met young fans and delivered some early Christmas presents.

Meanwhile, Adam Hammill, Grant Holt, Jack Robinson, Tommy Smith, Joe Lolley, Nahki Wells, Lee Peltier, James Vaughan, Anthony Gerrard and Conor Coady travelled across to Halifax to visit children at Calderdale Royal.

After the visits, Mark commented:

“Our players were delighted to have been able to put a smile on the faces of local children at Christmas time by visiting the hospitals.

“Some of the youngsters we met will not be spending Christmas at home this year, which is very sad. Taking the goody bags along and spending some time with them is the least we can do as a Club.

“Thank you very much to the nurses and staff at both HRI and Calderdale Royal for allowing the squad to visit; they do a fantastic job in caring for people in our local community.”
