Attacker to stay at ‘The Yorkshire Club’

Harry Bunn has today signed a contract extension that will keep him at Huddersfield Town until the summer of 2019, with the Club having an option on a further season at that point.
The powerful attacker, who turned just 23 in November, was originally contracted to the Club until the summer of 2017, at which point the Club had the option of a further year’s extension.
Born in Oldham, Harry was part of the Academy system at Manchester City for over a decade. His initial taste of First Team football came through a loan spell at Rochdale in League 1 before further loan experience at Preston North End and Oldham Athletic in League 1, then spells at Crewe Alexandra with Steve Davis and then Sheffield United for David Weir.
He first came to Town’s attention in his spell at Crewe in 2012 but he suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury that September, which halted a very impressive start with the Railwaymen. After recovering his fitness, he joined Sheffield United on loan as he completed his comeback.
Harry joined Huddersfield Town in November 2013, with his initial loan from Manchester City being made permanent until the end of the 2013/14 season at the beginning of 2014.
At the start, he was a regular starter and goal-scorer for the Club’s Under-21 Development Squad as it won the 2013/14 Professional Development League 2. He made four substitute appearances for Mark Robins but was given his first senior start for the Terriers when he scored in a memorable 1-2 away win at Reading in the Championship, selected by Academy Manager Mark Lillis, who was in caretaker charge.
Harry has now made 42 Championship starts and 10 substitute appearances for the Club, scoring 11 goals. He was runner-up to Conor Coady for the Club’s ‘Young Player of the Year’ award at the conclusion of the 2014/15 season and currently leads the Club’s ‘assists’ charts with four this term.

“He is exactly the type of player I like and prefer; he is an offensive-thinking player who likes to work very hard and can work defensively. He is also a good age.
“Harry is an example to those in the Under-21 team now. If you are patient and work hard, you will get a chance here. He shows how important the Club’s Under-21s are.”
