- First game against San Marino on 29 September

Huddersfield Town Academy defender Jordan Williams has been called into the England Under-17 squad for a set of upcoming UEFA European Championship qualifiers.

Head Coach Steve Cooper has named Jordan in his 18-man Young Lions squad for the games, which will see England will travel to Portugal next week to continue their preparations ahead of their opening First Round qualification match against San Marino on Tuesday 29 September.

England then face Armenia two days later before concluding the group with a clash against the host nation on Sunday 4 October.

The top two in each group will progress to the Elite Round qualifiers in March, where the final spots for next summer’s showpiece in Azerbaijan will be determined.

Centre back Jordan, who hails from Meltham and joined the Academy at nine years old, made his England Under-17 debut in August as the Three Lions finished runners-up at The FA International Tournament.

Jordan tasted victory twice as England defeated Italy 3-0 at AFC Telford and Turkey 2-1 at Walsall, before suffering a 7-3 defeat against the Portuguese at Burton Albion.
