ELVIS MANU RETURNS TO BRIGHTON

30 March 2016

Winger’s time at HTAFC ends early

- Elvis Manu recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion
- Winger made five sub apps for HTAFC
- Comments from Head Coach David Wagner

Elvis Manu has today departed Huddersfield Town and returned to his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 22 year-old winger joined the Terriers from fellow Sky Bet Championship club Brighton on an Emergency Loan running until 2 May 2016 but the Seagulls have now evoked their recall clause, which is part of all short term loans after the initial 28 days have passed.

In total, the former Netherlands Under-21 international made five substitute appearances for Town in the Sky Bet Championship; the last of which came in the 2-0 defeat at Derby County on 5 March.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner explained:

“I spoke with (Brighton Manager) Chris Hughton about Elvis and his return to Brighton is the right move for everyone.

“Now that we have been able to bring Rajiv van La Parra to the Club earlier than we believed we could, we have six loanees. I can only pick five in the match day squad, plus I’d prefer to work with the players who we know are here for the long term.

“Brighton also has a great chance of promotion to the Premier League, so Chris wants all his players fit, healthy and available to play for them.

“When you add this up, it makes the most sense for Elvis to return to Brighton. He leaves with our thanks and best wishes for the future.”
