WARD MOVES TO ROTHERHAM

9 January 2015

Danny moves to South Yorkshire on Emergency Loan

Danny Ward has today completed a 28 day Emergency Loan from Huddersfield Town to fellow Sky Bet Championship club Rotherham United.

The loan will allow Danny to be available for the Millers in their game at Brentford on Saturday with a permanent deal to follow, which would end Danny’s near-four year association with the Club.

Ward originally joined Town on loan from Bolton Wanderers in March 2011. Subsequently the move was made permanent in July 2011 and he has gone on to make a total of 95 starts and 45 substitute appearances for the Terriers, scoring 21 goals.

However, the 24 year-old has only started two Sky Bet Championship games this season, with just one start coming under the management of Chris Powell.

His contact at the Club was due to expire at the conclusion of the 2014/15 season.

Huddersfield Town Manager Chris Powell commented:

“We’ve already stated that we’d be looking for certain players to leave the Club during the January transfer window to allow us scope to both freshen and strengthen the squad within our budget and Danny’s departure is one such move, alongside Jon Stead’s loan to Bradford City.

“Danny has acted professionally throughout my tenure at the Club, but I could not guarantee him regular football. As a result, this move suits everyone involved. We wish him all the best at Rotherham United.”
