DANISH VISITORS TO HTAFC!

Holmfirth native brings new visitors to the Club

An exiled Huddersfield Town fan introduced his favourite club to a travelling party of Danish football fans with help from Club Ambassador Andy Booth in late May!

Dave Durrands is originally from Holmfirth, but has lived in Denmark for the last 12 years. Since moving to mainland Europe, Dave has played football for his local team Jægerspris IK; a community based club in his village that has teams for players aged from five up to 60 plus.

Every year, Dave’s age group has a team-building trip somewhere – so this season Dave brought 11 of his teammates over to Huddersfield Town’s PPG Canalside to play in an international five-a-side tournament hosted by the Huddersfield Town Supporters’ Association (HTSA).

During their stay in Huddersfield, ‘Boothy’ was on hand to give the travelling party a guided tour of the John Smith’s Stadium; the home of Huddersfield Town!

Boothy told htafc.com:

“It was great to welcome the lads from Denmark to the club recently. As Danish natives, most of Dave’s party were particularly interested in how our own Dane Philip Billing is getting on!

“They obviously have a great deal of passion about football and I think it’s great that they organise trips like this every year. It certainly sounds like their club, Jægerspris IK, shares the community spirit that runs through Huddersfield Town too.”
