Final regular league game of the year
Frankie Bunn’s Development Squad plays its final game of the regular Professional Development League 2 season on Thursday with an away game at Coventry City.
The Under-21s will kick-off at the Ricoh Arena at 22pm on Thursday afternoon in a rearranged fixture, after the original was called off by the referee after Town had arrived in the Midlands in mid-February.
Regardless of Thursday’s result, the young Terriers will finish second in the northern table and will subsequently compete in the end of season Play-Offs. As northern runners-up to Nottingham Forest, Town will play a one-off semi-final at either Crystal Palace or Swansea City, depending on their results.
Bunn will want his side to build momentum going into the Play-Offs with a good performance on Thursday, after his side dropped below its usual standards in Monday’s 4-1 defeat at Leeds United.
Thursday’s opponents Coventry City lie eighth in the nine team Professional Development League 2 North table.
