Huddersfield Town can confirm that Conor Coady has today completed a transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

An undisclosed seven figure offer from Wolves was accepted on Thursday, conditional only to Conor’s medical.

Conor travelled to Wolverhampton on Thursday afternoon and completed his medical on Friday.

The 22 year-old joined Huddersfield Town from Premier League Liverpool in early August 2014, signing a three year contract, and went on to make 45 starts and three substitute appearances for the Terriers in all competitions during the 2014/15 season.

One of his goals was a spectacular strike during Town’s 3-1 win at Molineux on 1 October 2014.

At the conclusion of the campaign, he won the ‘Players’ Young Player of the Year’ trophy at the 2015 Huddersfield Town Annual Awards.

Huddersfield Town Manager Chris Powell commented:

“We’re sad to see Conor leave, but this transfer represents outstanding value for Huddersfield Town and we believe it is the right move for the Club on balance.

“Conor also expressed his desire to pursue this opportunity, but we made it clear that the Club would only sell him if the terms were right for Huddersfield Town; there was no cheap deal to be had. Once the transfer deal was acceptable to the Club, the move suited all three parties.

“Conor is a great young footballer and a fantastic individual, so I’m sure I speak for everyone connected with Huddersfield Town when I wish him the best of luck at his new club.

“Our overall plan will not change because of this move. Even before Conor’s departure, we were already working hard behind the scenes to recruit the right players in key positions ahead of the start of the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship season. That hard work will continue as we prepare for the new season and target further improvement.”
