POWELL: WE WANT ANOTHER THREE POINTS

14 April 2015

Chris previews tonight’s game at Brighton

Chris Powell wants his side to continue its winning run when it faces Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium tonight; 7.45pm kick-off in Sussex.

Having been right in the promotion race during the past two seasons, the Seagulls have endured a tougher campaign in 2014/15 and come into the game three places and six points behind Town.

“I watched Brighton on Friday night and they didn’t do too badly, but a few moments of quality from Bournemouth got them the result,” Chris told htafc.com.

“Brighton is a good club; well run with a wonderful stadium, a large support base and lots of potential. It’s been a tough season for them with a managerial change and things not going as well as in recent years, but Chris (Hughton) knows the game and the division and he’ll do well there.

“We are both aiming to end this season on a high note, then look forward to the next one.”

It’s been a quick turnaround for the Terriers, who face one of the longest trips of the Championship season just three days after Saturday’s victory at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.

Chris continued: “We’ve regrouped. We were high after Saturday, but you can’t be too high! It is a long journey south, so we trained on the way down.

“Straight after the Forest game, I turned my attention to the Brighton match and how we should go about things. We’ve had a look at knocks to see whether or not anyone isn’t available and I’ve considered adding one or two to the travelling squad.

“We go there in good heart. I’m sure Brighton have looked at us and noticed we have really picked up over the last three games. There is a buoyancy and confidence about us, but I won’t let us get too overconfident because our next two – Brighton away and Derby at home – are tough games.

“I think we can go to Brighton in good heart and look to get three points again. We want to keep going, because we believe we are short of the number of wins we should have and we want to put the record straight.”
