CHELSEA YOUTH CUP DATE CONFIRMED

17 December 2014

Young Terriers to play at Aldershot on 13 January

Huddersfield Town’s FA Youth Cup Fourth Round Proper game against Chelsea will take place on Tuesday 13 January 2015.

The game will kick-off at 7.05pm at Aldershot Town’s ESS Stadium in Hampshire.

Admission to the match will be priced at £3 adults and £1 concessions.

The Club could run a coach to the game if there is sufficient demand, on which seats would be priced at £23 per person. If you would be interested in this, please register your demand by emailing graham.yates@htafc.com

Chelsea’s Under-18 side is the reigning holder of the FA Youth Cup, having defeated Fulham – the side that knocked Town out at the quarter final stage – over the two-legged final. That win was the Club’s fifth in the competition, with three of those wins coming since 2010.

Now managed by Joe Edwards, the young Blues currently top the Barclays Under-18 Premier League Division One table. They progressed to the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup by beating Leeds United 2-0 at Elland Road in Round Three.

Town’s Under-18 side has never won the FA Youth Cup, although it did become the first Yorkshire side to reach the final in 1974 – losing to Tottenham Hotspur over two legs.

Last season’s run to the Quarter Final was the Club’s best in the competition for 40 years.

Managed by Professional Development Coach Tony Carss, the young Terriers reached the Fourth Round thanks to a convincing 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace in Round Three – highlights of which are below.

Carss’s Under-18 side hosts Birmingham City at PPG Canalside on Saturday, noon kick-off, in its latest Professional Development League 2 North game of the season.
