2015/16 CHARITY PARTNERS

24 July 2015

Club announces plans for the coming season

- Club will work with three charities in 2015/16
- Work with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance & Hollybank Trust continues
- Huddersfield Goals for Hearts a new partner

Huddersfield Town is pleased to announce that it will be once again be dedicated to supporting local and regional charities in the 2015/16 season as part of its commitment to making a difference in the community.

As well as continuing activities and events in aid of the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Club’s own charity, the Town Foundation, HTAFC will also be supporting the Hollybank Trust and Huddersfield Goals for Hearts.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire. The charity needs to raise £12,000 per day to keep both their helicopters maintained and in the air. This is equivalent to £4.4 million per year. As a rapid response air emergency service the Charity serves a population of approximately 5 million people across 4 million acres. Since 2009, the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign has raised in excess of £1 million for YAA and the HTAFC Academy.

The Hollybank Trust is a long standing friend of the Club which we have supported throughout the ‘New Era’. Established 60 years ago, Hollybank Trust cares for babies, children, young people and adults with multiple, profound disabilities and complex needs. At their main site in Mirfield, there is a school which has been accredited as outstanding by Ofsted, a nursing home which has Gold Standard Beacon status in Palliative Care, a children’s home and four adult residential homes. In addition, there are three community homes in South and West Yorkshire all of which provide quality of life, for life.

Goals 4 Hearts is a Huddersfield based charity that raises money for life saving defibrillators for local amateur football teams and schools and also provides heart screening. The charity aims to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and make sure the protection and correct equipment is on hand when needed in all public places. The charity hopes to continue fundraising in order to purchase this equipment and therefore prevent SCA from happening and to save lives by having more defibrillators out in the community. The choice of Goals 4 Hearts was made in consultation with our supporters through the All Together Town initiative.

The charities will receive support from the Club throughout the season including involvement in home match days, player appearances and backing for their fundraising events.

Huddersfield Town’s Supporter Partnerships Manager Robyn Deegan commented:

“If we could, the Club would like to be able to help the many wonderful charities and good causes who contact us for assistance every year but sadly it isn’t practically possible. By working closely with three charities each season in addition to the Town Foundation, we can continue to make a real difference in our local community. We look forward to working with YAA, the Hollybank Trust and Goals 4 Hearts throughout the 2015/16 season."
