REPORT: TOWN U21s 4-0 BRENTFORD

2 April 2016

Young Terriers perform very well in the second half

- Under-21s beat Brentford 4-0
- Horsfall, Charles, Pyke & J Boyle score
- Highlights on HTTV on Monday

A young Huddersfield Town Under-21 side put in a great second half performance to defeat visitors Brentford in the Professional Development League 2 on Saturday morning.

Frankie Bunn’s side, which included Under-16 goalkeeper Ryan Schofield and defender Jordan Williams in the starting XI, took the lead after just eight minutes at PPG Canalside. A free kick was worked out to the left side and Jake Charles’ cross was knocked down by Rekeil Pyke for centre half Fraser Horsfall to score.

However, it was the second half performance that caught the eye as the young Terriers put three past their London opponents.

The first came after 53 minutes when the impressive Pyke screamed down the right channel and crossed for Wales Under-21 international Charles to head home at the far post.

Second year Academy scholar Pyke scored the third goal himself with 20 minutes left before his Under-18 teammate Jack Boyle, on as a sub, netted a great right footed strike from outside the area in the latter stages.

Highlights from the game will appear on HTTV on Monday.
