Billing bags brace before Charles completes comeback
Town’s Development Squad fought back from behind twice to record a superb win with 10 men in today’s Professional Development League 2 North game at Birmingham City.
After Reece Brown had put the hosts ahead early in the game, Town’s day seemed to be going from bad to worse when Anthony Gerrard – the only overage player in the Terriers’ line-up – was shown a straight red card on the half-hour mark after a confrontation with Amari’i Bell.
However, Frankie Bunn’s side pulled level just before the interval when Danish midfielder Philip Billing seized upon a poor pass from Will Packwood and fired home.
Birmingham retook the lead in the 67th minute through Liam Truslove, but Town fought back again with 15 minutes left as Billing got his head to Jake Charles’ high corner.
The ten-man Terriers then took the lead with fewer than 10 minutes left when substitute Rekeil Pyke set up Charles for the winner.
