YOUNG MIDFIELDER LOANED TO HYDE

30 January 2015

Development Squad midfielder Ben Holmes on the move

Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad midfielder Ben Holmes has today joined Hyde FC on a Youth Loan until 28 February inclusive.

The 18 year-old central midfielder joined Town’s Academy from Heyside Juniors in July 2010, graduating into the professional ranks during the summer.

Ben has made six starts and a further six substitute appearances for Frankie Bunn’s Under-21 side so far this season, scoring one goal.

He now joins the Tigers, who currently sit bottom of the Vanarama Conference North table ahead of an away game at Guiseley on Saturday.

Hyde’s Assistant Manager is former Town player and coach Martyn Booty.

Town’s Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn told htafc.com:

“Hyde’s coaching staff approached us about this loan and we believe this is an ideal opportunity for Ben. He needs to get some games and he will at Hyde in front of a crowd in a tough, competitive environment.

“Hopefully this move will benefit Ben in the long run. This is an important step in his development process, but it’s equally important that he will train with us throughout his loan too.

“Hyde has got two games coming up during the next week and we’ll monitor him closely in both.”
