BOOTH & BULLOCK PREVIEW 20 YEAR REUNION

18 May 2015

Legends gear up for event on 5 June 2015

Two decades ago, Huddersfield Town played out one of its most heralded games at the old Wembley Stadium.

The home-grown duo of Andy Booth and Chris Billy gave Town fans across the country a day to remember on 28 May 1995 and Booth, now the Club’s Ambassador, admits this performance was extra special.

Now the Club will hold a reunion on 5 June 2015 that will be attended by members of the promotion-winning team including Manager Neil Warnock and fan favourites such as Darren Bullock and Ronnie Jepson.

Boothy told htafc.com

“I’ve scored a lot of goals in my career but that header has to be up there with one of my favourites, just for the occasion. We wanted to get up to Division One for the fans and everyone involved with the Club and it was the perfect way to do it at Wembley.

“It will be great to hear the fans’ memories of the day. I’ve spoken to people over the years who have said it was one of the best atmospheres they’ve ever seen and to be able to play in it was really something special.

“Playing at Wembley is big enough, but to win in the way that we did, with a late goal was something else.”

Further back in the heart of midfield was Darren Bullock, who scored the winning penalty to send Town into the final with Bristol Rovers.

Of course, this fact alone means every Town fan who can recall the 1994/95 season holds a special place in their heart for the tough-tackling central midfielder. Bullock, likewise, admits he has a special place in his for the Play-Off Final win.

“It’s hard to explain the feeling of winning at Wembley. Scoring the penalty to send us there was unbelievable but to win at Wembley, there’s no better feeling.”

For those who want to hear more from Town’s 1994/95 team, you have the chance to find out all there is to know from all involved in one of Town’s most successful sides.

There will also be limited edition memorabilia available to purchase, along with a complimentary light one-course meal included in the price of your ticket.

The event will be held at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday 5 June. Tickets to the Division Two Play-Off final reunion are just £25 per person, with tables of 10 available for £225. All prices are inclusive of VAT.

A limited number of premium tables are also available for the night; please contact the Events Department for more information on 01484 484183 or email katie.barraclough@htafc.com.
