6 November 2014

Young stopper leaves for First Team experience

Town’s young goalkeeper Ed Wilczynski has today joined Trafford FC on loan for one month.

The 20 year-old Academy graduate will join the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League team ahead of its game at Grantham Town on Saturday.

This will be Ed’s second spell on loan at this level; he spent a month playing for FC United of Manchester at the start of 2014.

Managed by Garry Vaughan, Trafford FC sit 20th in the early Evo-Stik Northern Premier League table with 16 points from 17 games.

Huddersfield Town’s Head of Goalkeeping Nick Colgan commented:

“Ed is at the stage of his development where it will be good for him to get another taste of First Team football.

“Trafford FC play at a very competitive level and Ed will learn a lot from this spell away, as he did at FC United last season.”

Having grown up locally in Mount, Ed joined the Huddersfield Town Academy at under-14 level having played junior football for Collegians in Salendine Nook.

He has made one appearance for Frankie Bunn’s Under-21 side in the Professional Development League 2 North this campaign.
