Nahki’s brace completed a good comeback from the Terriers at Portman Road, securing a point that the Bermudian striker believed was just rewards over the 90 minutes.

“We didn’t deserve anything less than what we got. We probably deserved to come away with more than a point, but to come from behind and draw was good as it keeps the momentum of our unbeaten run going,” Nahki told htafc.com.

“We were the better team overall. In the first half I had a good chance and ‘Holty’ had another, so we should have been in front. Even at half-time we knew we had to keep our heads up, keep going and dig deep. 

“Even when we went two behind, I think you could see that we weren’t buckling. The subs came on and gave us a lift. We pressed forward and I was delighted to get a couple of goals, but I’m even more delighted that we could keep our run going.”

Nahki played the full 90 minutes against the Tractor Boys after being restored to the starting line-up by Chris Powell, having been a substitute during the previous two games. Although he’s desperate to play, Town’s top scorer admitted he fully understood the Manager’s decision. 

“Having been given the opportunity, I had to take it. The Manager talked to me (about leaving me out) and I totally understood why; the lads have been doing brilliantly, with ‘Bunny’ and ‘Scanz’ doing their part. They have been the best players in our team and when they came on at Ipswich, we knew what they could do. That probably helped me get my opportunities.

“I told him that I wanted to play and that when I got my chance, I wouldn’t let him down. I think that was the case on Saturday.”

Nahki was quick to praise the impact that new boss Powell has had at the Club since taking over in early September:

“Everyone is enjoying it at the moment; I think we’re all doing great. We’re moving forward. We may not have moved up the table on Saturday, but there were so many positives to take. 

“The Manager says he is still tinkering with things and I was delighted he gave me my opportunity. It was nice to see the likes of (Paul) Dixon get a chance in the side on Saturday too; I thought he had a great game.”
