SINNOTT SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

2 July 2013

Midfielder signs until summer of 2015

Huddersfield Town’s Under-21 Captain Jordan Sinnott has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Club until June 2015.

The Club also has the option of extending the contract until 2016.

The central midfielder joined the Club’s Academy at under-15 level and graduated in the summer of 2012.

Senior Professional Development Coach Steve Eyre named the 19 year-old as the Club’s Under-21 Captain last season and he made 22 starts, scoring four goals, as the side reached the semi-final stage of the Professional Development League 2.

He also gained additional experience with a loan spell at Blue Square National side Altrincham during December 2012, making six starts for the Robins.

Jordan also received his first taste of senior football last season, making his First Team debut in the 1-1 FA Cup draw at home to Leicester City on 26 January.

His second start soon followed in the replay at the King Power Stadium, during which he played 65 minutes in the dramatic 2-1 win as Town progressed to the Fifth Round.

Jordan’s first League appearance – and first senior appearance under Mark Robins – came as late substitute in the defeat at Nottingham Forest during February 2013.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:

“Jordan impressed as Captain of the Under-21s last season and fully deserved the taste of First Team football he experienced during the mid-point of last season.

“Jordan has a lot of potential, but equally he still has a lot to learn. His challenge now is to continue working hard in training day in, day out and make a further impact upon the First Team.”
