New loan signing speaks to htafc.com
Radi Majewski made an impact as a substitute on his Town debut at Sheffield United last night – and he’s looking to make similar waves for the Club in the Sky Bet Championship season.
The 27 year-old Poland international completed the paperwork on his season-long loan move at around 5pm at PPG Canalside on Tuesday – and jumped straight in the car to get to the friendly at Sheffield United, where his 20 minute substitute appearance saw him grab an assist for Adam Hammill’s winning goal!
“From my point of view it all happened very quickly; I only found out about Huddersfield’s interest in me on Monday,” Radi told htafc.com after the full-time whistle at Bramall Lane.
“I trained with Forest on Tuesday morning at 10am and after that I was straight on my way to Huddersfield. I turned up for the medical, and then it was the game!
“When I came to the game tonight I wasn’t really expecting to play, but I’m happy I have already made an impact on the team.
“I’m not happy, because I had a good situation to score and I will probably remember that miss for a while now. Sometimes that happens though and I will have to forget it. I hope the goals will come in the season.”
Luckily for Radi he already knows two of his new teammates from his parent club, which helped him make the speedy transition to the squad.
“I know Joel (Lynch) and Lee (Peltier) from Nottingham Forest and they are good players – for defenders! Lee was on loan at Forest last season and he made a good impact and knowing people makes it easier to step into a new club, but the other lads have also made me feel welcome; they are very friendly.”
Majewski is also well aware that Town fans might remember him due to the stunning hat-trick he scored against Town in the 2012/13 season, for which he’s looking to make amends!
“That was two seasons ago now, but perhaps the fans might remember me! Hopefully this season I can score more goals at the right end for Huddersfield.”
Majewski explained that, having witnessed Town’s style of football first hand whilst playing for Forest, he didn’t have to think hard about his decision to join ‘The Yorkshire Club’.
“I remember from last season that the players here play in my style; a passing style that I really like. That’s why I decided to come to Huddersfield – because this team plays football and has some good players.
“I want to play and I hope I can make an impact on the team. I want to help Huddersfield Town achieve its targets for the season. The Championship can be really hard as you don’t have that much time on the ball, but I think I can help the team.
“I really want to play in the Premier League one day – I hope that will happen in the future. For the minute though, I’m focussed on playing for Huddersfield.”
