GRANT HOLT’S LOAN EXTENDED

24 October 2014

Striker staying in West Yorkshire until 28 December

Huddersfield Town has today extended the Emergency Loan of Grant Holt from Wigan Athletic until 28 December inclusive.

The 33 year-old striker initially joined the Terriers for one month in late September, but his loan has now been extended to the maximum 93 day period.

Grant’s initial period on loan at ‘The Yorkshire Club’ has been a success; he has scored once and notched two assists during his first five appearances for the First Team.

Now he will remain at the Club for the next 11 Sky Bet Championship games of the season, up to and including the final game of 2014 at home to Bolton Wanderers on 28 December.

Huddersfield Town Manager Chris Powell commented:

“I’m delighted that we’ve managed to secure the services of Grant for the rest of 2014.

“His initial time at the Club has been a great success; he’s had an immediate impact on the team and has played a role in our unbeaten five game run. Although that run is down to every player rather than solely Grant, it is fair to say he has been a catalyst.

“We quickly made it clear to Grant that we wanted to extend his loan at the Club, so then the decision out of our hands. Thankfully, a lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to agree the deal with Wigan and Grant has subsequently decided he’s enjoying his football and wants to stay.”
