HOLMES RETURNS TO TOWN

17 March 2014

Young midfielder’s loan at Yeovil ends

Duane Holmes has trained at PPG Canalside with the Huddersfield Town squad on Monday after his loan at Yeovil Town was brought to an early end.

The 19-year old Academy graduate started five games in the Sky Bet Championship for the Glovers. After winning the penalty that was converted to give his side a 1-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers on his debut, Duane subsequently started the 1-1 draw at Reading, the 2-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday and a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town.

His final appearance for Yeovil came in Saturday’s defeat at QPR, when he was replaced by Manager Gary Johnson after just 29 minutes having rolled his ankle in the pre-match warm-up.

Duane’s loan will officially be terminated on Thursday, when the 28 day recall clause can be activated.

Town still have four other players out on loan:

Chris Atkinson – Bradford City

Midfielder Chris was an unused substitute on Saturday as the Bantams drew 1-1 at home to Gillingham in Sky Bet League 1 action.

Chris, who is on loan at Valley Parade for the rest of the season, has made one start and two substitute appearances for Phil Parkinson’s side to date.

Bradford are back in action on Saturday when they visit relegation-threatened Shrewsbury Town.

Martin Paterson – Bristol City

‘Pato’ joined Sky Bet League 1 club Bristol City on loan on Saturday morning and made his debut for the Robins as a substitute during their goalless draw at home to Swindon Town, replacing Wade Elliott in the 72nd minute.

City’s next game is on Saturday when they travel to Colchester United in league action.

Jake Carroll - Bury

Jake had started all five games since joining Sky Bet League 2 side Bury on loan – scoring once – but on Saturday the Irishman was an unused substitute during the Shakers’ 0-0 draw at Southend United.

The former St. Pat’s man has two games left of his initial loan spell, which is set to end on 22 March; Tuesday night’s long trip to Torquay United and Saturday’s game at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Cristian Lopez - Northampton Town

Spanish striker Cristian made his debut for new loan club Northampton Town as a 88th minute substitute during their 1-1 home draw with Mansfield Town on Saturday, replacing Chris Hackett.

The Cobblers, managed by Chris Wilder, host Rochdale in the League on Tuesday night.
