WOODS: WE ARE LOOKING UP

7 April 2014

Exclusive interview in Tuesday’s Give Us An H

Calum Woods spoke exclusively to Give Us An H about his time at the Terriers in Tuesday’s Ipswich edition.

The defender’s contract is due to expire this summer and like Danny Ward, he would like to extend his stay at ‘The Yorkshire Club’.

Formerly of Dunfermline, Woods was a key part of the Town side that achieved promotion in 2012 and in tomorrow night’s GUAH reflected on the last three years.

“It has been really good to have been at the Club during the last three years,” he told GUAH. “Every season the Club has looked to build on the last and you can see the upward curve that it is on. Even before I joined I had achieved promotion with Dunfermline, so it was nice to achieve that feat in successive seasons.

“The atmosphere has always been very positive and even though this season has been a fairly safe one, we are looking upwards,” he added.

Looking back on some of his highlights, he said: “Getting promoted was obviously a great feeling and a great day for the Club to finally get back into the Championship. The emotions surrounding last season and staying up on the last day were just as enjoyable, though. The occasions had different implications, but the emotion was very similar.”

The programme will be available for £3 around the John Smith’s Stadium and £2.75 from PPG Canalside.

Tuesday night’s edition will also feature pictures and reaction from the Reading draw; a look back at a famous Town player who wore the number 33 shirt and the key events that happened on midfielder Joe Lolley’s birthdate.

Also, with Ipswich hunting for a Play-Off place we took a look back at the last time they achieved promotion to the Premier League and their exploits in Europe.
