27 September 2013

Young ‘keeper makes temporary move

Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson has today joined Evo-Stik League Premier Division side Ilkeston FC on an emergency loan until 26 October.

Academy graduate Lloyd, 20, is joining the Robins on loan for the second time in his career; he played four games for the Club as they secured promotion via the Northern Premier League South Play-Off Final at the end of the 2011/12 season.

Ilkeston are still managed by Kevin Wilson and currently sit eighth in their division having secured 14 points from their first eight games of the season.

Lloyd, who made 17 starts for Town’s Under-21 side during 2012/13 season and a further three at the beginning of this term, is expected go straight into their squad for Ilkeston’s league game at Grantham Town on Saturday.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:

“Lloyd’s development has been fairly rapid since I arrived at the Club; he’s worked hard with Paul Crichton and the other goalkeepers. He’s a developing, improving young ‘keeper.

“Now the time is right for him to go out and play senior football. He will train with Ilkeston on Thursdays and play in their games, but otherwise he will continue to train with us at Canalside though the week.

“It’s a different type of football for him to experience and it will help him to develop his game management in real matches that really matter. We’ll monitor his progress in the games at Ilkeston with real interest."
