ADAM CLAYTON LEAVES TOWN

13 August 2014

Midfielder moves to the Riverside

Huddersfield Town can confirm that Adam Clayton has today completed a transfer to Middlesbrough.

After an extended period of negotiation between the two clubs, an undisclosed seven figure offer from Middlesbrough was accepted last week. The deal was agreed on Friday lunchtime conditional only to Adam’s medical.

Adam travelled to Middlesbrough on Monday and completed his medical on Tuesday, but did not sign until this morning.

Adam joined Huddersfield Town from Leeds United during the summer of 2012 and has gone on to make 94 appearances for the Club in all competitions over the last two seasons, bringing him to a total of 132 Championship games and 17 goals. At the conclusion of last season he won the Hargreaves Memorial Trophy after being named Huddersfield Town’s Supporters ‘Player of the Year’.

His existing contract at Huddersfield Town was set to expire at the conclusion of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.
