TOWN PLAYS ITS PART AT MIRFIELD SHOW

18 August 2014

Club joins forces with Northern Commercials

Huddersfield Town fans were yesterday given the chance to ‘Beat the Keeper’ at the Mirfield Show.

The game, which challenged those attending to kick a ball through a target into the back of a Northern Commercials Van, had over 125 entries over the day, raising money for the Town Foundation.

The stall was also visited during the day by the Club’s mascot Terry the Terrier as well as Development Squad defender Joe Wilkinson, who posed for photographs and signed autographs for youngsters.

Marketing Coordinator Jonathan Wilkinson commented:

“I think all of the people who took part enjoyed trying to beat the keeper and putting the ball into the back of the Northern Commercials Van. The event was a great day and I’d like to thank Club Partner Northern Commercials for getting involved and helping to raise money for the Town Foundation.”

Corporate Fundraising Officer of the Town Foundation, Mandy Taylor, added:

“I would like to place on record our thanks to Roger Peel, Steve Lahy and all the team at Northern Commercials. None of this would have been possible without Northern Commercials’ help, and we have raised lots of money which will directly go back into helping youngsters in our community.”

Managing Director Roger Peel has also generously offered on behalf of Northern Commercials to double the amount taken at yesterday’s event.

The six winners of match tickets were Paul Hancock, Kayleigh Harrison, Kay Sheard, Laura Scott, Phoebe Walker and Lynda Bennett. They will be contacted shortly with information on how to claim their prize.
