Community team working with Kirkheaton Primary School
Huddersfield Town’s ‘Football in the Community’ department has been helping teachers at school partner Kirkheaton Primary School encourage and reward good behaviour from its pupils.
Town’s full qualified community coaches have been running a dinnertime club during the whole school year, which well-behaved pupils from years five and six can attend to play football – but only if they have been well-behaved during lessons!
The pupils at Kirkheaton are pictured above enjoying one of the lunchtime clubs with Town’s community coaches.
The scheme has been so successful that another school partner, Dalton Junior, Infant and Nursery School, will be trialing their own lunchtime club when the next school year commences in September.
In just two years Huddersfield Town has actively formed closer links with over 50 local schools through the School Partnership scheme.
The scheme provides schools with access to discounted tickets, support sessions, sports equipment and coaching days courtesy of the Club’s Football in the Community department.
Involvement in the scheme is totally FREE to any school who wants to become an official Huddersfield Town Partner School.
