Terry the Terrier makes appearance at Brighouse Juniors’ Open Day

Huddersfield Town’s Terry the Terrier made a special appearance at Club Partner Brighouse Juniors’ Open Day last Saturday.

Brighouse is one of the Club’s longest serving Club Partners and as a result of the partnership – which is free – Terry the Terrier attended to keep the children entertained!

The children were also kept entertained with a bouncy castle, human football and a giant slide. While the penalty shoot-out proved to be a huge hit with adults and children alike. All the managers had turns in stocks giving the players a chance to get their own back by throwing cold wet sponges.

However, the star attraction of the day turned out to be Terry the Terrier who had great fun on the giant slide and bouncy castle. He also had a go on the human football even managing to score a goal!

Food, drink and refreshments were available throughout the day ensuring all visitors were kept happy. All age groups from 6 to 17 held presentations with all players receiving medals and trophies for the Player of the Year, Clubman and most Improved Player. Almost 400 players signed for next season, old, new, boys and girls.

If you`re interested in signing your child to Brighouse Juniors please contact Nicola Barker on 07740720361.

An evening event at Rastrick Bowling Club was held for Board members, Managers, Coaches, Parents and helpers as a thank you for a hugely successful season for the Brighouse Club. The under 9s won trophies at the Brighouse Town Junior day and Woodkirk Valley Tournament and also had a team come runners up in the league. The under 12 team won the Rastrick Tournament while the under 16s gained their third successive promotion taking them into League 1.

Brighouse are fundraising for a 3G pitch at their ground at Broad Oak, which once built, will be a huge boost for the community club. Up and coming events include a Girls Football Day on 8 August.
