SCHOOLS FOCUS VS CARDIFF ON SATURDAY

5 February 2013

Plenty of ‘off the field’ activity vs. Cardiff

The Fantastic Family Stand will be packed with over 1,000 young supporters when League leaders Cardiff City visit on Saturday thanks to the Club’s third ‘Schools Focus’ promotion of the season.

If you are one of the families that has applied for tickets through a locally registered school and you are looking to make a day of your visit to Town, there is plenty you can do on Saturday!

Your day could start early with Town’s Saturday Soccer Schools, run by the ‘Football in the Community’ department at the Zone on St. Andrew’s Road. Priced at just £4 per person, our 5-7 year old class runs between 9am and 10.15am; our 8-10 year old session between 10.15am and 11.30am and the 11-13 year-old session between 11.30am and 12.45pm.

There’s also plenty going on at Canalside Sports Complex on the morning of the game, with Town Chairman Dean Hoyle sure to be a popular guest at the latest question and answer session of the season, which will begin at 12.30pm.

Ahead of the game and throughout match day there will be plenty going on around the Family Stand; two face-painters and a balloon modeller from Artifaces can turn you blue and white from 1.45pm inside the lower and upper FM Stand turnstiles!

Ambassador Andy Booth will also be around to sign autographs ahead of kick-off and the ‘Town Family’ – the Club’s friendly team of match day assistants – will be handing out free foam hands to supporters, which we are asking fans to return to Town staff at the full time whistle.

We’ll also have a special half-time four a side game featuring our own Terry the Terrier and several other mascots from Town’s Club Partners! Joining Terry is the West Yorkshire Fire Service’s Blaze Bear; Kirklees Catering’s ‘Munch’ the Dragon; Hollybank Trust’s Holly Bear; Heartley from Heart Research UK; Dude and Dudette from Kirklees Active Leisure; Pinky Lynx from the Pink Link and the YAA’s mascot Helicopter.
